ILS TRAINING
ILS Executive Overview (3.5 hours)
Description: The aim of the Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) Executive Overview Course is to provide Senior/Executive Management of Defence Industry, or those wishing to enter Defence Industry, with a top level understanding of the Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) disciplines and the ILS Elements that underpin Defence Acquisition and Sustainment activities.
The course delivers an overview of each of the LSA Tasks and their interrelationships whilst also identifying the depth of the data that support them.
The course also provides an understanding of the ILS specific Data Item Description (DID's) and Contract Deliverable Requirement Lists (CDRLs) from the Australian Defence Contract (AUSDEFCON) system and permits attendees to understand the complexities of those deliverables along with how the data they provide is used throughout the Material Life Cycle (MLC) of the equipment.
A 30 minute discussion group is provided at the end of the course to allow for clarification of subjects covered and to cover any specific

  • Introduction to ILS and Support System
    • Covering the Ten ILS Elements, both in Project and the In-Service Phases
    • Introduction to the LSA Disciplines
  • Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Testability (RAM-T)
  • Level Of Repair Analysis (LORA)
  • Life Cycle Costing Analysis (LCCA)
  • Configuration Management (CM)
  • Task Analysis and Maintenance Requirements Determination (MRD)
  • Spares Optimisation (including Codification and Cataloguing)
  • Technical Data Management and International Standard S100D
  • ILS Data Deliverable requirements from the AUSDEFCON
  • Discussion Group
  • Participant Discussion and Questions
Pre-requisites
As this is introductory training, there are no prerequisite requirements for this course.

Session Timings
This training is available as morning or afternoon sessions. Night training can be arranged at special request (additional charges may apply).
