Soon we will be releasing all our applications (eMRD, eLORA and eMRD Companion) as V3.2. The main reasons for this mass release are:

  • Recompiling of our code base in Visual Studio 2012
  • Better compatibility with SQL Server 2008 (however, still backward compatible to SQL Server 2005)
  • New reports generator
  • New application packaging (Install Shield)
  • Revised license management – although users won’t notice anything different

If you are a user that uses more than one of our applications, these new releases will need to be installed together and at the same time.

These releases also give us the opportunity to apply outstanding enhancements and bugs. So here are the details application by application.

UPDATE – 17 Jan 14

Applications are in final testing and should be released before COB 24 Jan 14.

Upon installing the V3.2 applications you will notice big changes in the installation directory. Only application files, dlls and license files will now reside in the installation directory. All other supporting files such as database blanks etc will now be stored in the Program Data directory (typically: “C:\ProgramData\LES Tools”) – NOTE: Program Data is normally a hidden folder. The reason we have done this is to comply with Microsoft Best Practice.

In the near future we will be distributing a regular newsletter. The newsletter will be a collection of the latest blogs and links from this blogsite.

The reason for the newsletter is to ensure we get the news out to our readers on a regular basis. The newsletter will also provide you with a reminder to visit our blogsite from time to time.

Our initial distribution list will be generated from registered software users on our Issue Tracker website. If you choose not to receive our newsletter, you only have to click on the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of the newsletter. Likewise, if you know of anyone who might like to subscribe to our newsletter, just forward them a copy of the newsletter and they can email us at softwaresupport@les.net.au to subscribe.

eLSAa logo

We have been working a new addition to our suite of applications called eLSA.

The purpose of this application is, when used with eMRD, to provide full compliance with DEF(AUST)5692.

eLSA will share the same underlying database as eMRD and eLORA and basically will fullfil three main functions:

  • data entry user interface for all the ‘non-MRD’ data elements
  • availability of standard DEF(AUST)5692 (read MIL-STD-1388-2B) LSA reports
  • provide the ability to conduct all ‘non’MRD’ related calcs

Keep an eye out on our blog site for future updates, screens shots etc.

For all you users using one of our V3.x products, you may have noticed that our icons and splash screens have changed. We did this to try and give our products more of a unique identity. We are very proud of the way these turned out – particularly the 3D and transparent effects of the splash screen (below).
